1994-1998 Power Stroke Three Inch Aluminized Down Pipe

| The Diesel Performance Parts down pipe for the 1994-1998 Power Stroke is designed to eliminate the installation issues that have been associated with down pipes on first generation Power Strokes. The Diesel Performance Parts two piece down pipe is manufactured to fit a large percentage of trucks without having to make any major modifications to the truck. Some down pipes that are available actually ask you to use a Porta Power the bend the floor to make enough clearance for their pipes to fit. Not Diesel Performance Parts! The only modification that might be necessary is to bend the lip of the pinch weld where the floor and the firewall are spot welded together. This area is about three inches wide and if necessary will only need to be bent upward | |||||||||||||
| approximately one half of an inch. Whether your truck will need the modification depends totally on how the truck was assembled at the factory. Was the cab set forward during manufacturing, or was the engine set to the rear in it’s mounts a slight amount are the determining factors. The Diesel Performance Parts down pipe is supplied with an Accu-Seal clamp to seal the joint of the upper and lower pipes. Diesel Performance Parts experience has shown that in this location it is impossible to use a standard style muffler clamp. There just is not room. The Accu-Seal clamp makes this very easy. The Diesel Performance Parts down pipe is designed to bolt directly up to the original equipment catalytic converter. | |||||||||||||

The bolts
and flange are welded in place to eliminate the installers need for an extra
pair of hands in a very cramped and confined area, especially on 4X4‘s. Welding
the flange and bolts ensures that the lower half of the down pipe is installed
at the correct angle, as the welded flange will only allow you to install
the pipe correctly.

For those customers that use their truck in off road events we also have a catalytic converter delete pipe. It slips in place of the original equipment converter and installs onto the Diesel Performance Parts down pipe. The Diesel Performance Parts converter delete pipe is designed to replace the original equipment catalytic converter. The replacement converter delete pipe is designed for racing purposes and is intended for off road use only and in areas where fire safety allows the removal of a factory emissions device for fire prevention. Check your local and State laws to be sure. The Diesel Performance Parts delete pipe slips into the factory system after the removal of the converter and slips over the lower half of the Diesel Performance Parts down pipe. Diesel Performance Parts recommends that you completely install the down pipe to the factory converter and then perform the installation of the delete pipe while the down pipe is still bolted in place. This makes the installation process much easier and guarantees the alignment of all three section to be correct. |
