Dodge Aluminized Four Inch System

The Diesel Performance Parts Dodge Cummins 5.9 diesel exhaust system is designed to replace the entire factory exhaust system for 2003 and newer model years. The Diesel Performance Parts system is manufactured of mandrel bent aluminized steel tubing and welded hanger components. Every system is packaged to fit any style cab or bed length. This is accomplished without any cutting, as the tubing is precisely designed for each body and bed style.

The Diesel Performance Parts system is a complete four inch aluminized system that includes our spiral flow muffler and five inch T-304 stainless steel mirror polished, rolled edge tip. The Diesel Performance Parts Dodge Cummins system begins with a four inch aluminized down pipe, that connects with the four inch intermediate pipe, spiral flow muffler and tailpipe.

The Diesel Performance Parts spiral flow louver muffler is six inches round by thirty inches long, containing an inner packing material made of stainless steel wool, with a ceramic wool outer packing. The interior of the muffler is a one piece four inch, aluminized steel tube that dampens the resonance of diesel exhaust and keeps the interior noise level of the cab within three decibels of the

original equipment system. The outer case of the muffler is not a sheet of flat stock rolled into a round muffler. The Diesel Performance Parts muffler starts out as a six inch diameter section of aluminized tubing. The added expense of using tubing more than justifies itself in long product life. The first place a diesel exhaust system will usually fail is in the muffler and almost always at the weld seam that runs the full length of the muffler case. Because Diesel Performance Parts uses factory formed tubing that potential

failure problem is eliminated. Diesel Performance Parts muffler design incorporates spiral flow louver that is specifically designed for diesel exhaust performance. The spiral pattern of the louvers promotes the same flow the turbocharger introduced to the exhaust gasses as they left the turbocharger. The spiral pattern of the louvers helps speed the exhaust gasses out of the exhaust system to lower the exhaust gas temperatures as quickly as possible.

The entire Diesel Performance Parts system uses welded on T-304 stainless steel hangers to make installation extremely easy. This is also the most secure and permanent method of mounting, exactly like the original equipment system was designed. Systems that use clamp on hangers are more difficult and time consuming to install and generally the system does not hang on the truck as well. Clamp on style hangers are generally made of mild steel and will rust and fail over a short period of time, causing the system to loosen up and misalign itself. whenever possible to eliminate this problem. The joint clamps provided in our systems are plated to prevent corrosion, and provide a long life. The tail pipe is a four inch aluminized steel mandrel bent tube that provides the maximum clearance for the suspension and spare tire during installation. The Diesel Performance Parts five inch rolled edge, polished T-304 stainless steel tip is designed to help eliminate diesel soot from collecting on your truck or trailer. Some systems use a chrome plated tip, unfortunately these tips

have a very short life span with the tip being located directly behind the rear wheels, it is battered by road debris. Chrome-plated tips will begin to rust very quickly but not T-304 stainless steel.

The Diesel Performance Parts Dodge Cummins system has been dyno tested to provide as much as 24 horsepower and 53 foot pounds of torque. The average gain is 19 horsepower and 43 foot pounds of torque. The Diesel Performance Parts system will lower your exhaust gases by up to as much as 200 degrees, while providing a quicker spool up time on your turbocharger. There are even fuel mileage gains with our exhaust system. The mileage gains will vary by individual driving style and location. Extra power is great, but lower exhaust gasses will allow you to make other performance modifications to your diesel engine and still keep the exhaust gas temperatures still at a safe level.
